Evil has a new enemy, Aranya, Princess
of Immadia, Dragon Shapeshifter.
Chained to a rock and tossed off a cliff by her
boyfriend, Aranya is executed for high treason against the Sylakian Empire.
Falling a league into the deadly Cloudlands is not a fate she ever envisaged.
But what if she did not die? What if she could spread her wings and fly?
Long ago, Dragons ruled the Island-World above the
Cloudlands. But their Human slaves cast off the chains of Dragonish tyranny.
Humans spread across the Islands in their flying Dragonships, colonising,
building and warring. Now, the all-conquering Sylakians have defeated the last
bastion of freedom–the Island-Kingdom of Immadia.
An intriguing new paranormal fantasy, Aranya,
by author Marc Secchia is the first book in the Shapeshifter Dragons series and
one that may well capture your imagination. It’s a popular genre with a host of
new releases readily filling the shelves, but Secchia certainly seems ready to
make his mark. With rarely a dull moment, he spins a mythical yarn, achieving a
notable balance between luxurious detail and intense action, which fans of the
high fantasy genre will certainly applaud, but it’s Secchia’s world building
prowess that really sets this tale apart. He has a meticulous eye for detail
and a vivid imagination which are well captured on the page and whilst it isn’t
a quick read, his delivery is timely and never feels forced. With a host of colourful
and many original character incarnations, the time honoured theme of good
versus evil takes on a refreshingly unfamiliar dimension.
Definitely a fantasy series to have on your
watch list and sure to be well recieved, Aranya is deserving of your attention
and is strongly recommended.
